Introduction:

A magnetoresistive linear position sensor(transducer) comprises a sensing element,together with a housing, electronic circuit, and a separate permanent magnet. The permanent magnet is attached to the movable workpiece member of which the position is to be determined.The housing contains the sensing element and electronic circuits,as well as providing the means for mechanical mounting of the transducer to the stationary part of the workpiece.


  The electronic circuit provides the regulated power supply,resistance measuring circuit, and signal conditioning necessary to provide the desired output type. The housing is typically made from aluminum so that it does not affect the magnetic field experienced by the sensing element. The position magnet is sometimes enclosed within an aluminum housing itself to provide shielding as well as to provide a means for mounting it to the movable part of the workpiece.The position magnet can be configured to approach the sensing element along the axis of the poles, as in Figure 8.11, or can be a longer shape that operates with the sensing element positioned between the poles.  Allowing the use of both of the magnet poles increases the total measuring range of the sensing element.


Magnetoresistive linear position sensor is a high precision  displacement  measurement  sensor developed  by  adoption  of  the principle  of magnetostriction. Adopting non-contact measuring method, the product has long service life and strong environmental adaptability. Periodic calibration and maintenance are not required; The product is absolute output, and it does not need to be reset to zero for restart; it has the characteristics of high precision, high stability, high reliability and high repeatability; and output supports current, voltage,SSI, Modbus, PROFIBUS and various output methods, and it is widely adopted in petroleum, steel, chemical engineering, port, machinery, food and other harsh industrial ambients, which is the first choice of high-precision displacement control.
